Funding and Construction Outlook
More than $11 million in city and state money has already been assembled for the effort. Phase 1 calls for the purchase of roughly seven acres and construction of an eight-court building, with total costs for that stage estimated at $15 million. The facility would include space for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, cheer, dance and indoor soccer.
If the City Council approves the site, work on the first phase could begin without lengthy additional delays.
